BatRep How To

What You Will Need
A digital camera (or camera + scanner)
Painted miniatures to play with
Some personal web space to upload your pics (working on getting FTP access here!)
Reasonable attention to detail and some writing skills

Step One: Choose A Scenario
Our monumental task is to compile batreps for every army, every scenario. If you want to submit a batrep to help the cause, please pick one we haven't done yet! Otherwise, we recommend using our
Mission Selector.

Step Two: Terrain
Once you have your mission selected, set up the terrain on your table and take a few pictures. Take one from each short table end, and take several from the long edges, and as high above as you can to get an "aerial" view. You might also want to make a rough sketch of the table to help you remember the layout.

Step Three: Deployment
Take several photos of the table after both sides have deployed. Be sure you zoom in on any objectives or key units.

Step Four: PLAY!
Once you start the game, keep your camera handy and snap a picture whenever the battlefield changes. You should also keep pen, paper, or a tape recorder handy to take notes. Accurate note-taking is very important to getting an interesting and detailed battle report.

Step Five: Write It Up
We're trying to keep as true as possible to the batrep style we all know and love from White Dwarf. When you write your report, make sure you and your opponent discuss the scenario, your army selections, your strategies, and of course any key turning points each turn.

Step Six: Contact Me
If we are going to use your batrep, there's going to be a lot of file transfers necessary.
Email me the written portion of your battle report and let me know where to point my browser to get your pics. If you don't have a place to upload your pics, but your batrep is well written, zipped up, and ready to go, we may be able to work out a simple email transfer-- we'll discuss that when it comes to it.
