Jeremy Baldridge's Dark Eldar

Updated 08/19/01

This is my Dark Eldar army, the "Kabal of the Glowing Feast". It's my only finished and painted army to-date, and surprisingly, it won "Best Painted" for me at the first Rogue Trader tournament I attempted. I have a pretty good win record with it, considering it's my "beater" army (haha, pun).

This is Rife Saturnal, my Archon. I barely ever use him since I prefer the Haemoncubike combo below. However, he attracts a lot of attention because of the almost tribal way he's painted. I'll have to give him a Jetbike or Hellboard to play with one of these days.
This is Lorces Almstet, the Chemist Haemonculus. He keeps the Kabal fully-stocked with drugs of all kinds, and is the personal advisor of Rife. Also, he's the boytoy of Kaali below. This conversion wasn't too hard: just the body of a Reaver biker, the head of a Warrior, and some accessory blades on the hand for a Scissorhand effect.
This is probably the best conversion in the army: Kaali Mongres--the speed junky Haemonculus. Her conversion was a bit more difficult, since the body of a female Warrior doesn't quite fit the Rider legs or the posture in the jetbike. Her purple mohawk is a chunk from a DE Warrior plume. The pole is just a piece of sprue and the unfortunate victim lashed to it (complete with sewn-in pistol hands) is a Human she once favored, and decided to keep around after she was through torturing him. Grisly! The corpse is from the OOP Zombies set.
This is my Hellion Blaster conversion (since you can't buy them with Blasters). I got the gun bit from GW and cut off a Warrior's fists--and glued them on. The knife is from the Warrior sprue. I especially like the blending of green and yellow on the armor and the two-toned red and purple hair. Big gun for a scrawny little Dark Eldar.
This is my Hellion Succubus (male), complete with blood splatters and trophy heads.
These are a couple of Warriors to show the paint scheme of most of the army. The Sybarite in the middle is actually a Scourge without wings. The trophy rack is a conversion and his sword is from an Eldar sprue.
This is my Talos, "Parasite". I have a project underway to sculpt my own Talos, but that's been a long time coming--and I keep dismantling it because I have better ways to do it. I wish GW would've given the Talos some upgrade options so there was more customization one could do with them.

The above is the product of about six hours of work. It's a scratch-built Raider, made completely from mat board, toothpicks, wooden dowel rods, and balsa wood. With a little fine tuning, it could probably pass for a purchased one.  Click here for a complete construction guide.

To the right is a basic plastic DE Warrior converted into a Wych.  I used the ponytail head, a knife from the sprue, and clipped off the barrel of a splinter rifle.  I had to remove the knife hand and rotate it on the wrist, but the conversion was very simple for the most part.

Otherwise, I just painted some areas flesh-colored and tried to give the pant legs an appearance of being slit open.  Still need to base it...
