Benjamin Durbin's Sisters of Battle Army

The Sisters of Battle are the perfect complement to my Penitents chapter of Space Marines. I'm a big fan of Emperor worship and nobody plays it better than the Sororitas.

My color scheme is about 90% true to the Order of the Valorous Heart. I prefer to use a little more red to pick out the icons, and a little less red on the cloak trim. And in my 40k, guns are never, ever anything other than gun metal. Come on, who' s really gonna paint their gun red?

I converted this Canoness over to a power sword right when the SOB's came out for V2. Under the new rules of V3 I'd just as soon have her little icon back and call it a power weapon...

Sisters of Battle are really a very odd army choice for me personally because even the simplest foot trooper has a ton of detail. I would never play with anything other than painted miniatures, but I'm always eager to get figures on the table and start playing, so most of my armies don't take a whole lot of painting skill. I can paint whole squads of Tyranids in the time it takes to do one Sister.

Like many of you out there, I'm sure, this is one of my favorite SOB models. She has a nice snarl on her face as she rips the pin out of that grenade. What a gal. And you just know, as soon as she's done blowing some infidels to chunky bits, she's ready to reapply her lipstick. Why do you think they have three times as many pouches as your average Marine brother?

Yes, that's right. That's the sarcophagus cover from Hero Quest. I added it to the top of this Sororitas Rhino as a holy icon. Fits almost perfect, looks great.
No Sisters of Battle army is complete without an Inquisitor on hand. Besides, what else are you going to use that 2nd HQ choice on? A Missionary? Arch-Confessor Kyrinov? Please. Your opponent looks at Kyrinov, he figures it's story time. You get an Inquisitor on the table, with requisite Terminator Armor, Rosarius, and Psycannon, and you send a clear message you're there to kick some ass.

I'm slavishly dedicated to the fluff, so I never buy him psychic powers (and you'll find no Librarians in my Penitents chapter, either). Psychic power will inevitably lead you down the path to Chaos, friends. Read the fluff.
