Benjamin Durbin's Chaos Army

From the day I painted my first Genestealer cultist, I knew Tzeentch was the guy for me. In hand-to-hand he can best anything except perhaps his brother Khorne, and in the psychic department he has no rival. Hands down, the best Chaos patron.

Even fluff-wise, you have to admit that Tzeentch has the most personality of all of the chaos gods. The others are pretty one dimensional and predictable; only Tzeentch seems capable of any complicated machinations.

And who but Tzeentch has a sense of humor?

My Bloodthirster conversion. I got some off-cast dragon arm at GenCon a few years back, which seemed perfect for his upraised arm. Not sure where the boar's head came from, but it's superior to the normal dog-faced Bloodthirsters (despite the overly pink nose). The chain draped around his neck isn't just for decoration, it covers up the mold lines where the head conversion is attached.

And then GW goes and releases those new Greater Demon models and my cool conversion is suddenly the runt of the litter. I have a ton of Bloodthirsters, maybe I'll just beat GW to the punch and start using them as Bloodletters before they upscale the models again.

The infamous Rhino of Khorne. Here's what you'll need to build one just like this: Undead horse heads, Jugger head, undead chariot ribs, oop bloodletter upper body, some old fantasy shields, the teeth from two dozer blades, $300 and several stitches in the emergency room.

Listen up, kids. When GW suggests you place your sprues on a hard surface, always cut away from you, and take extreme care with your exacto knife, they're not kidding. I got back from the hospital and found huge pools of blood congealed on the track sprues. Gotta respect Khorne.

I have a nice squad of Beastmen painted up for use in my Chaos Army. Back in V2, Beastmen were one of the nastiest troops you could buy: with T2 and W2, equipped with pistols and swords, they were extremely nasty assault troops. Even my small squad of just 5 earned a nasty reputation and drew an inordinate amount of fire for their 90 points cost.

Now, in V3, I'm not sure what to do with them. I've used them once or twice as possessed marines but it just doesn't feel right. I'll hang on to them and wait for some kind of official Cult Codex.
