Turn Three – Sisters of Battle:  "Go with the Emperor," Inquisitor Soulis said to Sister Quita as her Rhino neared the outside edge of communications. "Return to the Sanctorium and report what has happened."

There was nothing else to do but to press forward, and the inquisitor did just that. The jungle was dense, however, and the roots and vines tripped up the Sisters ahead of him slowing their advance considerably. They had to fight with the foliage nearly as hard as they would with one of the enemy soldiers to get through it. This was where the enemy's noose would tighten, Inquisitor Soulis thought to himself, with their vastly superior ability to navigate the forest, they would surely ensnare the Sisters now.

The Immolator's tracks did not move despite the repairs attempted on it by the crew. Sister Superior Magda urged her Retributors forward, but it was nearly impossible to get through the trees. The burning wreck of the Celestians' Rhino was the only contact she had with the rest of the army and she began to grow uneasy. The battle hymn her Sisters were singing faltered and the sounds of the Jungle seemed to close in on them. "Purge the heretics!" she screamed, and her squad swept the trees with their heavy flamers. (The Retributors were spooked when I rolled 'snake eyes' for their rough terrain test.)

Redeemer Karlist hacked at the Catachan sergeant, but he was growing tired from this protracted combat and was unable to land any wounds. Likewise, the Catachan was unable to wound him, nor were either of their troops able to kill one another. The battle was a total stalemate. Karlist had once again been unable to stir them up into "the Passion" … it would definitely be time to find some followers with a little more conviction before he set out to purge the unclean again.

Turn Three – Sisters of Battle:  Captain Juarez feared he was starting to sound like a scratched data disk as he urged his troops forward once again. He could now see the enemy at least; the others had done a good job of slowing them down, for most of them were barely beyond the clearing where the attack was first launched. He ordered his troops to fire a volley at the retreating enemy, but they were unable to get past their black power armour.

"Now!" Sergeant Blackman shouted to the troop carrying the demo pack. The lad hurled the satchel charge for all he was worth and it landed right at the feet of the lumbering terminator that appeared to be giving orders to the enemy army. Whether or not he was indeed the other army's leader, and despite his armour that was legendary for its toughness, the satchel charge detonated and sent him to the ground – smouldering wreckage all that was left of his armour. (A picture-perfect scatter from the dreaded Catachan Demo pack; what an end to a great leader! – Nick.)

The protracted combat had proved too much for Sergeant Carruthors and his men. He was knocked to the ground by the raving lunatic who was the leader of this band and  watched helplessly as the rest of the cultist band hacked down his troops.
