Turn Two – Imperial Guard:  To the west, Lt. Goreman could now see power armoured forms advancing towards him, firing deadly bolters as they moved. His headquarters squad was easily out of range, so he continued forward nonchalantly and ordered his radioman to contact company headquarters. No sooner had the message gone through than he could hear the rumbling engine and clanking tracks of a Basilisk advancing to his rear. The lumbering tank moved behind the hill that dominated the southeast part of the battlefield and its crew began their calculations for the first barrage.

Lt. Goreman looked back to see Lt. Brass and his headquarters group sprinting towards him over the open ground. To the north of Lt. Brass his first squad moved up the hill, while his other squad moved through the woods to the south, directly behind Goreman's first squad. Both assault teams also emerged from the jungle onto the battlefield, one of them near the Basilisk and the other behind 2 Platoon Squad two.

Unbeknownst to the Imperial Guardsmen, an Eversor Assassin had also crept onto the battlefield, hiding in the shadows of the Basilisk, biding his time for the proper chance to strike.

Squad One of 1 Platoon moved forward to engage the enemy. As they moved they fired their lasguns, beams of light shooting out from the muzzles. The grass and foliage in front of them were ignited and singed by the blasts, but glanced harmlessly off the polished black armour of the warriors ahead.

Turn Two – Sisters of Battle:  Canoness Ekaterina's command rhino charged onto the battlefield. She glanced at the tactical monitor in the vehicle and was satisfied to see that the Dominions, Seraphim, Sister Quita's squad and both units of retributors were not far behind. She was hardly surprised that Redeemer Karlist's mob of Red Crusade adherents had not yet arrived. Sister Jana's rhino had thrown a track trying to manoeuvre through the dense terrain, so Ekaterina did not expect her any time soon, either.

Ekaterina ordered her driver to continue towards the Imperial Guardsmen at all possible speed. She could not see any armour in the immediate area, but ordered the smoke launchers activated just in case. The Retributors in the Immolator moved alongside the canoness' rhino, deploying their smokescreen as well. Further to the north the Dominion squad in their rhino followed suit. Over her comlink, Ekaterina ordered all of her forces to continue directly toward the enemy. Activating the vox-casters of her rhino, Canoness Ekaterina began a battle hymn.

Sister Marguerite heard the rumbling of rhinos advancing to her rear. Her soul was filled with joy as she heard the Canoness leading the Sisters of Our Martyred Lady in a battle hymn over the command rhino's vox-casters. Sister Marguerite took up to chant, and the battle sisters under her charge joined in. Filled with renewed vigour, they advanced towards the Imperial Guardsmen cowering in the trees ahead. The sisters fired weapons as they advanced; deadly bolts exploded as they hit tree trunks, felling some of the smaller foliage. The jungle did not absorb all of the bolts, however, as Marguerite could see at least soldiers lose a limb or crumple to the ground writhing in pain. First blood had been drawn.
