++TO: Abbess Ekaterina, Canoness of the Adeptus Sororitas Order of Our Martyred Lady
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ FROM: Inquisitor Soulis,Ordo Hereticus
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++RE: Reconciliation of Catachan XVIII Green Devils
+++++++++++THOUGHT: He who loses a limb lives on. He who loses his head does not.
As you know, Imperial forces were forced to withdraw from Sorgreece V several months ago in the face of a superior chaos invasion fleet. Now that reinforcements have arrived and the planet is now back in the righteous hands of the Imperium, cleansing is progressing apace.
However, a rather unexpected situation has arisen. A company of Imperial Guardsmen, the last surviving remnants of the XVIII Green Devils, has emerged from the jungles where they have apparently spent the last months, continuing the battle against Chaos. They are hysterical and maddened by their encounters with daemons and the Emperor knows what other abominations, and have been attacking Imperial columns, apparently unable to tell friend from foe.
I entrust this delicate matter to you, Loyal Daughter of the Emperor, Ekaterina. Deploy your forces to the Xenthali Jungle and give those lost children an honourable disbandment in the purifying flames of holy fire. May the Emperor have mercy on their souls.
Fail me not. Fail not the Emperor.

Canoness Ekaterina put the scroll back into its case and peered out through the front port of her Rhino. No word yet from the squads of battle sisters she had deployed to find the renegade guardsmen, but she could feel that confrontation was close. The very trees of the jungle surrounding her were charged with electricity.
In the passenger compartment of the troop carrier, Confessor von Dracek was leading the Canoness' Celestian bodyguard in their pre-battle devotions. The Celestians were already fervent adherents to the Imperial Creed, but the confessor was now whipping them up into fanatical righteous fervour. As Ekaterina listened in, she could feel her pulse quicken. The holy words the confessor spoke were good. The Catachans were beyond hope of conversion, but in death their tortured souls might know the Emperor once again.
Ekaterina's head snapped back to the view port as the crackling report of bolters broke through the evening air. Before the engaged unit could contact her, she had already ordered the Rhino driver forward.
"May the Emperor's mercy be swift."

Nicholas Wansbutter (a.k.a. Ice Czar):
Brock's Catachans are a regular opponent of my Sisters in fact, it's developed into
a bit of a "grudge match" between the two of us when these two armies meet each
other on the battlefield. With that in mind, neither of us is likely to see many
surprises. I always bring lots of troops, so the Redemptionists and Battle Sister Squads
were a given. I decided to upgrade one of the Battle Sister squads to a fast attack squad
by giving them a Rhino for two reasons: first, to give Brock's guns more targets (and
hopefully draw firepower away from more valuable mounted units) and second, to get them
into the battle quickly if they are deployed from reserves late. The Canoness and her
squad are a mainstay of my army, though they do not usually ride in the Rhino, since I
prefer my whole army to be moving at the same speed and don't want my HQ unit stranded far
ahead of the rest, surrounded by enemy. I gave them a vehicle this game for the same
reasons as the Battle Sisters Fast Attack Squad. I have found Acts of Faith to be very
useful time and again, hence the maximum use of priests in the army.
This battle is the first time that the Dominions will see the table. In theory they will be very deadly to Brock's armour on the other hand, one well-placed Battle Cannon shell and I've just lost close to 15% of my army. We'll see how they do I'm hoping they'll live up to my expectations so I can bring them to the Rogue Trader Tournament (Astronomi-con) that will be held here in Winnipeg in the spring. The heavy-bolter equipped Retributors are a must for fighting Imperial Guard, as are the Heavy Flamer-toting Retributors. If more Seraphim had been painted, I may have brought them, but even so I'm happy with this list.
Now, my attack plan: I always like to play with maximum speed and aggression, and I see no reason to modify this plan. I'll advance towards Brock's lines as quickly as I can, hopefully getting mixed up with his troops before the ordinance weapons show up. I've never played a Patrol mission before, but with my dice rolls, I know from the start I can't count on many units deploying early on hopefully the higher mobility granted by the rhinos will help. With the "Passion" Act of Faith, it is possible for a mounted Sisters squad to move 24" in one turn. Set flamers to purify!

Brock Jansen (a.k.a. Commissar Akrim): Fire
at will! When fighting against Sisters of Battle with the Imperial Guard, you must account
for three things: lots of speed (they don't have full access to Rhinos anymore with Codex:
Chapter approved, with the "Passion" they are still quick), power armour
and lots of assault weapons. So I opted to take a heavy firebase: the mandatory 2 platoons
for mass lasgun fire, one of them r armed with lascannons for anti-tank fire.
Then I selected the "big guns": a
Leman Russ Battle Tank, a Griffon and a Basilisk with indirect fire. These can lend a good
amount of heavy support fire. Next I selected my assault/counter assault troops. In my HQ
section I included a Colonel and 3 Commissars geared for close combat (power fists/ power
weapons).
Two Veteran Assault Teams armed with flame weapons and demo charges can be devastating at
close range. A Hardened Vet squad with three Meltaguns and a Chimera (with smoke
launchers) for a nasty surprise to enemy armour. Top it off with an Eversor Assassin for
assaulting squads (or characters that wander too close) and I have a force worthy of the
name Imperial Guard!
