TURN TWO- Blood Angels (Brian): The Death Company was swiftly upon the guardsmen holed up in a sandbag bunker just outside the pump station. As half of the squad claimed the station as their territory, the Chaplain and his best men swooped down into the midst of the cowering soldiers, who stood and fired their lasguns into the aggressors with no effect. Enraged by the flickers of light, the Death Company lashed back with buzzing chainswords. Heads and limbs were dismembered, expertly, falling to the piles of sand below like cuts of meat in a macabre butcher shop. It was gratuitous: men already dead were still standing as their bodies were further reduced to horrid sculptures by the ravenous Marines. The glow of the Chaplain's Crozius Arcanum faded as the last body slumped to the ground, oozing like a wineskin.
The Death Company hadn't even broken a sweat...

The Blood Angel's other Dreadnaught, concerned that it was being shown-up by its twin across the battle, fired its lascannon at the Imperial Basilisk parked in front of the Baneblade. As it was perhaps the only weapon the these guardsmen had of stopping the Death Company cold--this made it the best choice of targets. The precise shot struck the barrel of the gun, rendering it useless.
Meanwhile, the Armored Fist Chimera bearing the Penal soldiers was struck with fire from all directions, doing such incredible damage to the tank that its occupants barely made it out. They struggled around a low wall with their hearts sinking as they saw the Blood Angels within throwing distance: not the first thing you want to see when bailing out of a ruined armored transport.
TURN TWO- Blood Angels (Jeff): The Land Speeder decided to gamble big: play chicken with a superheavy class tank. Not at all phased, the pilot flitted the light vehicle through the wreckage of buildings follow the wake of the Armored Company's cannons and hovered directly under the barrel of the Shadowsword in order to maximize the power of the skiff's weapon. A direct hit was scored, and yet again, more damage to the vehicle's movement was incurred. Not impressive considering the tank had no real intent to move anyway.
The Tactical and Scout squads moved forwards out of the forest and into the sight of many Imperial guns, which they weren't properly equipped to handle save for the Veteran Sergeant's meltabombs. (Editors note: of course, they are able to score "Lucky Glancing Hits" a la the Armored Company rules). Unless some miracle allowed them to penetrate the several heavily-armored tanks with lucky shots, there'd be no use for these infantry.

TURN TWO- Blood Angels (Greg): The Land Raider Crusader witnessed what happened to the Scouts, and immediately moved up to support them. The size of the LRC was paramounted only by the Titans trading blows across the battlefield. Small trees splintered under its treads as it steered to avoid the thick of the bog as even the shallow end could stop the rampaging tank. As its front hatch opened, the hurricane storm bolter rounds kept the nearby Retributors from taking aim, and the machine spirit imbued the multi-melta with power. Even with its terrible aim, it managed to hit the Immolator, but only shake it.
As the hurricane bolter barrels stopped spinning, the Terminators inside marched out wielding storm bolters and assault cannons. The Seraphim did not have a moment to scatter as the heavily-armored Marines tore into them with a swath of fire. In mid-air, each and every Seraphim was brutally executed; their bodies colliding with the earth as their jetpacks detached and flew amok in random directions. One attempted to crawl and retrieve her bolt pistols, but her light was extinguished as well. The Terminators stepped over their remains and moved to disable the pesky Immolator in hand-to-hand.
The Dreadnaught rotated its torso and fired across the battlefield at the Sisters' HQ squad, slicing one of the members in half with a lascannon beam. Bolter fire from rifles and pistols killed three more Sisters, and a meltagun vaporized a fourth. Despite their power armor and prayers, the sisters could not seem to shrug off the terrible casualties inflicted by the seemingly random gunfire. The Librarian's plasma pistol overheated as he prepared to execute yet another Sister, but his armor saved him from the hideous burns. Another plasma pistolero seared a bolter sister beyond recognition in the HQ squad.
The Terminators approached the Immolator calmly and silently except for the creak of their armor. Unceremoniously, they repeatedly slammed their power fists into the front-end. Fluids and steam leaked from the engine, which soon caught fire. Panels and doors were ripped off and tossed aside, as the crew were liquidated by the disruptive energy fields. One Terminator decided to punch cleanly into the napalm canisters, and the whole wreckage went up in flames. Unscathed, the Terminators stepped back as if admiring their work.
Across the field, a lone sister was charged down by Blood Angels and she quickly joined her fallen kin who lay bleeding as casualties from bolter fire. The Blood Angel Librarian lunged into the squad that valiantly stood protecting their HQ, and he sliced three Sisters to ribbons as the rest of his squad expeditiously killed the other two and their preacher. Power armor and prayers stopped none of the energy weapon strikes. With no resistance, they swept into the HQ squad.
TURN TWO- Imperial Guard (Andy): The crippled Basilisk moved from its position in front of the Baneblade, in an attempt to still make use of its mobility. Despite all of the Baneblade's armament, it only managed to dispatch two Blood Angels. Meanwhile, the Penal squad from the destroyed Chimera clambered all over a Rhino in their way, desperately attempting to jam their lasgun barrels into firing ports and hatches in hopes of hitting sensitive equipment or the pilot. There was no such luck, and then they attempted to sunder it with stones and gun barrels wedged into the tracks. Nothing worked. Their ticket had been punched.
The platoon command squad decided to die with their boots on and charge the Tactical squad that bailed out of the Rhino now being rocked back and forth by the Penals like rioters. Three of the guardsmen managed to tackle one of the Blood Angels to the ground and dash in his skull with the stocks of the rifles. However, two of their own were savagely killed in return. Beaten, but not broken, the guardsmen stuck in the fray--hoping they would be joined by the nearby Penals who were engaged in a seemingly hopeless offensive on the tank.

TURN TWO- IG Armored Company (Ben): The former refuge of the Tacticals and the Scouts was set alight by an ordnance blast from a nearby Armored Company tank. The tremendous explosion scattered the Tacticals like chaff in the wind, yet the thick vegetation provided them an amazing amount of cover...so much that only three of them were vaporized in the blast. The ashen survivors almost seemed to be wearing pink armor when they emerged from the crater. The force of the hit was so strong that it killed the gunner aboard the Razorback behind the forest. He fired randomly into the air before breathing his last; the shot spooking one of the vultures circling overhead.
The rest of the Armored Company again concentrated their fire on the Reaver Titan, managing to slow it down even further and dismantle a second gun. This action served as a double-whammy, as the Reaver was becoming less able to shoot and the damage to its legs kept it from moving forward to engage the tanks in assault and pick them up and toss them around like children's toys.
TURN TWO- Sisters of Battle (Jeremy): The Sisters had little option except to shoot into the sweeping advances that were being made upon them. More prayers to the Emperor were made, but He apparently favored the Blood Angels this day...as not a single wound resulted from the racket of standard issues all around. The HQ squad's heavy flamer managed to hoist her weapon just as a Blood Angel got to point blank range, and sprayed out a stream of napalm that was absorbed by her attacker. Though he was consumed by flames from his knees to his crown, his reluctant act of sacrifice saved the rest of his squad from the same fate by taking the brunt of the incendiary. The Confessor's plasma pistol incinerated another...but when the Canoness called upon the Passion, they suffered more casualties than they inflicted...one Blood Angel died and two Sisters fell... What had they done to offend the Emperor this day???
The Librarian was only within reach of one Sister, and easily cut her down with his power weapon. Other members of his squad hacked apart the Sister Hospitaller and Famulous. Despite these major losses to the HQ squad, the Sisters did not break away from combat.
