TURN TWO- Eldar: The Exarch, who had seen more wars than the young Farseer Meesi, knew that this battle had already been decided. Knowing that this force was doomed, he fell back (failed his Man Alone test). The wave serpents glided south around the hill as the Basilisk wreck blocked their path.

“You….are….MINE!” Callidus:

The Shadow Weavers, knowing that the rumbling, clanking Chimera contained a set of mutated Mon-keigh almost as ferocious as the Orkoid Mon-keigh, targeted their battery on the transport. Unfortunately, the mesh was designed to slice flesh, and although it did gouge the front armor, the vehicle was undamaged.

The oily smoke around the north bunker caused the twin brightlance beams of the wave serpent to refract and miss the bunker altogether. The second wave serpent with the star cannon fired at Blue Two, the plasma reducing two men to ash. The gunner of the final wave serpent keyed the auto-loader to chamber an anti-infantry round into the wave serpent missile launcher. The plasma round exploded in the midst of Blue One, killing three. Despite these shocking casualties, the famed Mordian iron discipline lived up to its reputation and both squads held firm.

TURN TWO- Imperial Guard: Shedding the form brought on by the Polymorphine, the Callidus assassin appeared behind the cluster of wave serpents, near Farseer Meesi. The Leman Russ gunned its engines, driving in front of the General and his men, bravely offering itself as a shield against the Eldar. Other than this, there was no movement from the Imperial lines, not even the Chimera that had originally intended to drive towards the Shadow Weaver crew.

Instead, the Chimera driver manned the Heavy Bolter while the gunner powered up the Multilaser. Bolter slugs and laser beams cut into the air, but only one of the Eldar manning the Shadow Weaver was killed.

At the north end, Blue One opened fire on the wave serpent containing the Striking Scorpions. The autocannon shells rang off the wave serpent, stunning the machine. Blue Two, fired at the second wave serpent. The autocannon shells bounced off the energy field, but the krak grenade scored a lucky shot, killing the driver and sending the machine crashing to the ground. Eight of the Guardians managed to escape the flaming wreck.

I always thought these things were supposed to stay in the air... “This is a baaaaad place to be…”

Green One and Two fired at the wave serpent, but their shots fell short and wide. Green Three, or the remnants of it, fired at the wave serpent with brightlances. Again, the autocannons bounced off the energy field but the Krak grenade ignited the power cells, causing the machine to slam into the ground. Again, eight of the Guardians managed to escape.

Unfortunately, this left those eight Guardians directly in front of Blue Three. Being within rapid fire range of the Imperial Guard is never a good thing. In a flash of lasguns and the roar of the autocannon, the Eldar simply ceased to be.

“…and here’s why.” “You ain’t got nothing on me, beyotch!”

Green Command braced their weapons to try and shoot past the wooded hills to the Shadow Weaver crew. Two of the Eldar fell dead, one by the discharge of the crude plasma gun and the other cut in half by the lascannon. Despite these gruesome deaths, the Eldar focused on their instruments, confident in their Farseer's plans.

In the center, the Callidus charged up her neural shredder and fired at the wave serpent with the scorpions, shaking the vehicle, but it was already stunned so there was no real damage done. The Callidus then followed by charging Farseer Meesi. Unfortunately, the Farseer was not as unskilled as had been thought. Deftly using her jetbike platform as a shield, she evaded the thrusts of the deadly phase sword, while drawing blood with her witchblade. Against all odds, the young Farseer had prevailed! Her raid, however, was coming undone.
