TURN TWO-- Dark Eldar: During the first turn the Dark Eldar had not really gained ground on the main front, as all the advancing troopers were shot down. Now the vicious aliens took a more clever tactic and tried to advance in the sides of the battle field, crushing the marines between their advancing flanks.
The Dark Eldar army had two ferocious flanking forces in their Archon's retinue and the Reaver bike squad. Both lighting fast, they zoomed forward. The Archon's raider made it to the cover of the old refinery.

The Archon understood that his bodyguard of Incubi did not share his invulnerable field, so they hid their Raider behind an abandoned refinery building. One of the Warrior squads advanced on their side.
During the shooting phase the Warriors remaining in the central forest tried to take revenge with their two dark lances. They hit a landspeeder, but unfortunately only killed the gunner, silencing the Heavy Bolter.

The ultrafast Reaver Bikes zoomed past the footloggers, who themselves were advancing at superhuman speed through a maze of trenches. On both flanks the alien horde was now rapidly closing in while their center was still holding.
In table quarters, the Dark Eldar clearly hold three and contest the fourth.

Shooting began by the Whirlwind's shot guessing spot on Dark Eldar Warriors but then scattering harmlessly off into the desert. The Land Speeders continued to whither the warrior squad in the forest and finally the Terminators finished the last warrior. The Dark Eldar squads are losing men fast.
The Archon's Raider was stunned as the Marine Razorback fired everything at it. The Dark Eldar leader's cursing echoed through the noisy battle field as he waited for his driver to regain control of his craft. Stunned, the Raider drifted slowly forward instead of charging to the marines.

Suddenly the marines looked a lot more prepared for the coming onslaught, with a wide gap between them and their adversaries. The Dark Eldar warrior squads running through the trences in the east edge felt differently, however, as they closed to firing range.
