TURN THREE- Dark Eldar: A trio of Hellions sprinted out from a decaying building, climbing onto their Hellboards and taking flight in one graceful move only seen in the fighting pits and alleys of Commorragh. Korrigan the Succubus fired a Terrorfex, planting a psychotrophic wraithbone grenade in the midst of the Honor Guard. As the two others flitted to his side, they giggled as the squad saw, felt, and heard things beyond imagination...terrible, unfettered, violating things. To add to the hallucination, Lorces and Kaali roamed by on their jetbikes--only to gush acid all over the helpless squad. It was difficult to tell who was actually dying, but they counted two that stopped moving in the tangle of thrashing bodies.

Despite the intimidation the Ravager presented, it missed with its entire salvo...allowing one tactical squad to fight on. In the face of the sweeping advance, a Blood Angel fell trembling to the toxin of a splinter shard. A Cannon opened up and pierced another with several larger knives of toxin. A Blaster evaporated the waist from under a third, who groped at the ankles of the comrades who did him the mercy of a coup de grāce before passing. A second Splinter Cannon railed on the back of a Rhino, stunning the crew and disabling the mounted Bolter. Despite heavy losses, the Tactical Squad did not budge from their position.

Argus, the Chaplain, moved with incredible speed as he chopped down two more Dark Eldar like stalks of grain. It seemed almost as if the poison had been completely purged from his system. The squad rolled in, matching the speed of the Eldar, and traded blows that felled the Sybarite and three Warriors with fists and rifle stocks. Sergeant Celeano jammed his plasma pistol in the gut of one, burning a hole through him to barbecue another Eldar behind--while disembowling a third with a twist of his chainsword. The ferocity was unreciprocated, as the Dark Eldar only savaged one Blood Angel. They turned and ran from the fray, but were caught and cut down by the airborne Chaplain who continued his flight into the nearby Reavers. Across the field, the two remaining Haemonculi attempted to foul an errant Land Speeder with Haywire grenades, but the marine gunship was too agile.
TURN THREE- Blood Angels: The battle had come down to close combat, with foot squads moving no more than to take a quick flash of shots then dive into assault--only to emerge and challenge yet another foe right away. It was tiring, and the pollution was testing the filtration units in the Blood Angels' packs, but it would take more than that to bury them in this wasteland. Argus, the Chaplain, led the fragments of Tactical troops on to contest the remnants of Dark Eldar Warriors. Meanwhile, Met'is and his squad were fighting enemies in the dark regions of their minds.

Shrugging off the chance to annihilate one of the looming Haemonculi with a pull of the meltagun trigger, the far Land Speeder instead turned completely around--moving to take a point-blank shot at the Ravager hovering arrogantly like a dire owl in its hunting ground. The seemingly-unwieldy skiff jinked at the last second as the shot missed entirely. In desperation, the immobilized Honor Guard Rhino popped a round off at the Ravager as well, which could not penetrate the reinforced armor... A combination of melta and plasma technology evaporated two Warriors. The same ensemble singed one in a dwindling Raider squad. To make up for the Speeder's suicidal move, a krak missile was able to ruin one of the Ravager's Disintegrators. The Whirlwind once again made its appearance, as a series of rockets pocked the earth about the feet of an intact Raider squad, throwing three of the Warriors out of their bunker into three separate broken and bloody heaps.

The Chaplain, with one stroke of the Arcanum, hacked off the leg of the Reaver Succubus as she attempted to cut his throat with a runner blade. Unable to control her jetbike, she fell to the ground bleeding to death as her vehicle exploded nearby. Meanwhile, her squad could not damage the Imperial hero who continued to oppose them, despite their aerial acrobatics. The Tacticals marched on into the scraps of Warriors who resisted the temptation to flee. While the Dark Eldar managed to kill one in the charge, the Blood Angels ripped three of the blackhearts to shreds.
