Dark Eldar vs Necrons
Strongpoint
"Well?" The Archon arched her meticulously formed eyebrow at the captain of her
scouts.
"I beg forgiveness, Mistress, but we were unable to find any more
information about the invaders, and the mysterious beacon atop their pyramid grows
brighter still. Perhaps some clue may be found in the libraries of our Iyanden
foes..."
"Are you taunting me, Dar'El? You know very well I burned their
libraries to the ground."
One of the scouts raised her eyes to
the Archon and met her gaze-- an act of brazen insolence noticed by all in the room.
Dar'El seethed and could hardly contain her anger. A haemonculi licked his lips and waited
for his signal.
"Yes? Do you have something to say?" The Archon seemed almost
amused.
"Your mercy, Mistress-- my name is Mor'El. Against the wishes of
my sister I took my bike closer to the raiders than was wise. But I was able to see, quite
clearly, a generator of some kind not far from the pyramid. It stands to reason we could
put out the accursed light by simply destroying that generator. I cannot stand to see you
so tormented by the light of that beacon."
"You are as wise as you are beautiful, Mor'El. It pleases me to follow your advice.
For countless years I have suckled at the breast of darkness, and neither man nor beast
will wean me to the light. Have my jetbike prepared, and summon the wyches to me. We shall
all drink before the battle. If you please me, Mor'El, you may ride at my side as Sybarite
of your squad."
Dar'El spoke up, her voice cracking in desperation and the knowledge that her objection
was futile. "Mistress! That is my family, and my place to lead them!"
"Do not worry, Dar'El. I have a place already set aside for you on the Talos..."

About Our Sponsors: What's The Deal?
On account of the unprecedented coolness of Batreps, we
got an email from Great Canadian Miniatures asking if they could advertise on our site.
Well, rather than settle for the normal "banner" routine (which pays a pittance
anyway, considering what we sink into this hobby) we've worked out a cool deal with GCM
for-- what else?-- cheap miniatures. Being as this site is only as popular as the readers
make it, we're going to get you in on the deal as well.
The banner above says 25% off, but Batreps (and you) can get 30% off instead. Here's how
it works. Every now and then the Batreps guys get a bug up their ass to try something
new-- a big tank, a new squad, whatever. We get an additional discount on that item if we
buy from Great Canadian, and when that item appears in a Batrep here, you can get it too.
We're not making a killing off this advertising deal, we're just accumulating bigger
armies, happily supporting a GW retailer, and giving you the chance to do it as well.
It's sort of like the way it works in White Dwarf, only instead of trying to sell you a
bunch of naff and weedy crap, you'll be getting the cream of the crop from what the
Batreps guys think is cool. Guys who really play the game. Guys who unabashedly beat the
crap out of each other-- ok, mostly we just beat the crap out of Andy-- and who have a
realistic view of which miniatures are really worth adding to your army. Not Cypher. Not
Solar Macharius or any of that other stuff you don't allow in your games. Good stuff:
Rhinos. Razorbacks. Wyches. Scads of Gretchin. The kind of stuff we want to play with
because it really wins games (except maybe for Andy).
Right now they're offering 30% off of everything until the end of February 2000. In the meantime, we're putting
together a shopping list of stuff we want to add to the various Batreps armies. When we've
got them all painted up, we'll use them in a Batrep so you can see how they did, and maybe
pick some up yourself at 30% off.

Deployment: The Dark Eldar strategy was to get into close combat. Past experience had shown that the only effective way to get the Necrons to go down and stay down was to wipe them out man-to-man. Thus, the Dark Eldar attacked at night, and started the mission with the only units capable of sneaking past the sentries: The Wyches and the Beasts.

Wyches and Beasts advance dangerously close to the sentries under cover of night...

The light blazes around the Wyches as a sentry is destroyed.
Without a sound, the alarm goes out and the whole Necron army is alerted...
