TURN TWO- Dark Angels: A few more vital seconds ticked by and still the Deathwing Terminators stood resolute, guns blazing, refusing to advance to the enemy. The Vindicator dropped a shell directly onto the Slugga Boyz, vaporizing five of them. The Terminators poured it on as well, killing five more-- only the Nob was left. He quickly fell back and assumed control of the Kommandos behind him.
The Dark Angels on the north end sent bolter shells and missiles into the advancing buggies, sending one out of control and into a flaming wreck. The Dreadnought opened fire on the rest of the squadron, and with amazing accuracy finished off two more. So much for THAT.
The Tactical Squad on the south end, supported by the Command Squad and the Librarian, opened fire on the Lootas in the trees, killing two of them. The Whirlwind had a lot of important targets on the board-- Skarboyz, Lootas, Flash Gitz-- but ultimately it was the size of the Ork Kannons that put fear in their hearts. A hissing salvo of missiles rained down on the Big Gunz, but thanks to the Mek's Kustom Force Field, only one Grot Krew and one Oiler were killed.
TURN TWO- Orks: The last remaining Grot recovered his senses, staggering along stupidly at the feet of the Killer Kan. The Orks were still out of range of their sluggas, and all of their Kannon shells came up duds. The Lootas and Flash Gitz, hunkered down together in the woods, had better luck, killing four of the Tac Squad between them. The Warboss pushed the Skarboys forward and started to fan them out to hold their portion of the battle line.
