TURN ONE- Imperial Guard: The Vindicare carefully loaded a Shield-Breaker round and opened fire on the Archon-- success! Just a couple more direct hits and the Vindicare would finally live up to his reputation as one of the most feared assassins in the Imperium. So what if the average commander took a good 3 shots to put down? This job was going to be a piece of cake.

The Ratlings, however, knew better. Already their hands were shaking and they failed to damage even a single Reaver. The Leman Russ back in the camp managed to wound the Talos which had crept out from the trees, and the Autocannon in the Iron Chimera also found the mark. Perhaps it was not so bad after all.

TURN ONE- Dark Eldar: The Haemonculi hopped onto the running boards of the skiffs and the entire force moved into attack formation. Despite the baffling smoke, a Dark Lance destroyed the Demolisher Cannon on the Leman Russ, and a second hit destroyed the tank completely. Splinter fire from another Raider ripped into the Ratlings, killing one of them, but the Talos opened fire and killed the rest. The fourth Raider opened fire on the Assassin, wounding him; the Archon finished the job. When it was all over, the Vindicare and the Ratlings were gone, and the Guard had already lost one extremely valuable tank.

The Guard on the walls moaned in disbelief. Their mission was already a failure. If the Archon turned tail now, they would never be able to track him down. But, to their amazement, he just kept coming closer!
