Dark Eldar vs Sisters of Battle
Bunker Assault

Mother Mary Regis gazed out the front ports of her Immolator. The past few weeks had seen intense fighting against the Adeptus Astartes, and she was weary of the internal struggle among the Emperor's chosen. She had swept the area clean of a small contingent of Blood Angels and Celestial Knights, but was driven back by a Blood Angels couter-strike. (The flames of her Immolators had not fazed their Death Company, and she was now more respectful of their fierce reputation.) Rather than face them again, she had dropped back to a set of abandoned bunkers to wait for more reports from her sister who moved among the enemy camps. After just a few days, the report came in: Dark Eldar pirates, hard pressed by hostile forces, were approaching her area, hoping to take the bunkers for their own uses. Mary Regis checked the fuel guage on her combi-flamer and prayed for the souls she would soon commit to the Emperor.

Special League Report!
This was to be my last game of this league. I was unfortunately called away to Hong Kong on business before the league could finish. My record stood at 2 wins, 1 loss, and I was just coming off that brutal loss to the Blood Angels in which I had completely mishandled my force. Suffice to say I was happy to draw Andy, eternal whipping boy, for my next and final opponent.

Andy (Archon of the treacherous Dark Eldar): With Bunker Assault, I was pretty confident that my Dark Eldar could take out the Bunkers. I was planning to strip the Disintegrators off the Raiders, and use the extra points for the three DE Dark Lancers I had in my box. However, to speed things up, I went off and just used "Plan C". This was my all-around attack force. Hopefully it would be able to hit Ben hard enough to keep him down. Once the bunkers were destroyed, I figured I could concentrate on his forces.

Ben (Evangelist of the Faithful): Although I was happy with my 2-0 record from the week before, I was hell-bent on finding room to add my Callidus Assassin. To that end, I dropped off all the extras from all my squads. I started by cutting all the Sisters Superior and their upgrades, scaling back the vehicles, and then I went with the dangerous choice of dropping my Canoness' Rosarius and melta-bombs. Although I felt I had proved the effectiveness of the all-APC army the week before, I was hoping that no one had noticed and I would not have to face any tanks.

Deployment: The Sisters of Battle had two bunkers in which to deploy their HQ and Troops. Under normal circumstances, I would have forsaken the bunkers in favor of all the APC's I had with me. Because the Sisters have such short range weaponry, it makes no sense to sit in the bunkers and get pounded from a distance. On the other hand, I had to hold the bunkers in order to score. In the end I settled on a compromise, deploying the Sisters in the bunkers, but kept the Canoness and the Rhino ready to roll.

Just a side note here-- the Canoness with her Celestian retinue, mounted in their Immolator, is an awesome HQ choice. Although lots of armies can deploy similar units, nobody else gets so much armor, mobility, and firepower for such a low cost.

The Sisters deploy in the bunkers, but the Canoness refuses to give up her mobility.

Preliminary Bombardment: The Dark Eldar preliminary bombardment was absolutely useless against the vehicles and the bunkers, and likewise failed to damage any of the squads.
