TURN
TWO-- Space Marines:
The bikes rallied and whipped around towards the juiciest
target on the table-- the Farseer and his retinue of
Warlocks. Using their bolter fire instead of their plasma
pistols, they killed the Farseer and another Warlock--
leaving just one Warlock to deal with. Unfortunately, "just one" Warlock sent his Witchblade cleaving through the Rhino. The Warlock watched with alien glee as the Space Marines bailed out and foolishly bunched up in a tight group-- clearly unaware of his Destructor discipline. |

The pounding of the
Wraithlord on their transport demanded action, and the
Devastators responded by pouring fire out the hatches--
lascannon fire from the turret, the men inside, and the
meltagun from the sergeant. The Wraithlord was nearly
killed, and the Penitents called on their Dark Angel
brothers for help in finishing the task-- to no avail.
Their outstanding enmity with the heretical Dark Angels
was clearly justified in their refusal to help finish off
this dangerous threat. The Wraithlord was oblivious to this, of course, and proceeded to smash the Razorback to tiny bits, spilling the surviving Devastators into the open, ripe for the picking. |

The Ecclesiarch and his men proceeded to finish off the Storm Squad and moved to cover, sensing the Star Cannon that had destroyed their bikes now bearing down on their Terminator armor. Unfortunately, in their lumbering suits they could not quite make it to safety. The Ecclesiarch was unwilling to leave his brothers and raised his fist in anger at the Dire Avengers laughing down at them from the walls. |

The mighty Avatar stepped
forward and effortlessly smashed the Veterans' Razorback
in a huge explosion-- killing three of the Rangers, one
of the Veterans, and even wounding himself! Farther afield, the Storm Squad continued to pelt the immobilized Titan with haywire grenades, this time causing a flashback to the Plasma Blast gun. The Titan continued to flail around, crushing another two Guardians and sending them running off the battlefield. Too little, too late-- the Wraithguard were coming... |
| So exactly
what were the Dark Angels up to while their brothers were
giving their lives to meet the objective? The Land Raider
crew, living ever in fear of any threat to their precious
vehicle, poured their considerable firepower into the
nearby Defender Squad, desperately trying to destroy the
Bright Lance they carried with them. They did not destroy
the Bright Lance, but two twin-linked heavy bolters, a
storm bolter, and a twin-lascannon did manage to destroy
ONE guardian-- enough to break the squad and send them
bailing for cover. A job well done! The Devastators inside fired at the Falcon, stunning the crew-- whereupon the Spirit Stone took over! The Predator killed two of the Jetbikes, routing them, only to see them rally as they reached the edge of the fighting.

![]() The Librarian and the Scouts, at least, earned their pay. The Librarian crushed the Scorpions in close combat, forcing them to flee-- but not far enough to escape the Librarian, even in his clumsy armor! The Scouts assaulted and routed the Dire Avengers, once again dooming another Eldar squad to death by crossfire. |
