TURN ONE-- Eldar: Things looked bleak for the Marines as they stared out across a battlefield still swarming with angry Eldar. The Falcon whipped around behind the Land Raider and unloaded, its shots ripping off one of the twin lascannons.

The Jetbikes, Dark Reapers, and Dire Avengers only managed to kill four of the Tactical squad on the hill, but this stroke of bad luck was soon rectified as the Viper squadron completely annihilated the Assault squad without a trace.

The Dire Avengers stepped to the edge of their bunker and rained shots down on the Ecclesiarch and his Retinue-- to no avail! The retinue escaped unharmed and the Ecclesiarch with a mere flesh wound. Their luck and their faith in the Emperor holding fast, they also lived through the firestorm of the Fusion guns. The Storm squad surged forward into assault, but were smashed aside by the purity of the Emperor's chosen. Two of their number fell, but the Warlock fought on.
One of the Wraithlords stepped up to assault the Devastator's Razorback, but miraculously failed to harm it.

The Banshees quickly surrounded the Assassin, but before they could move in to assault, the Rangers had him in their sights and picked him off cleanly-- well, as cleanly as an Eversor can be killed, that is. The Banshees had wisely given the Assassin a wide berth and his bio-explosion was harmless.

The Striking Scorpions surged out of cover and swarmed the Librarian, but despite the whirring blades of the Exarch's Biting Sword, could not penetrate his armor. The Librarian was caught off guard and did not kill any of the Scorpions in return.

The Warp Spiders fired their Deathspinners into the back of the long-range Dreadnought to stun it, then teleported forward and assaulted the Scouts. The Farseer dispatched the close-combat Dreadnought, while simultaneously crushing the Scout sergeant's mind before he could fight. The Scouts themselves fought fiercely and routed the Warp Spiders, who were cut down in a crossfire as they tried to escape.

The Assault Bikes had killed 2 of the Wraithguard, and the Eldar were determined that they would kill no more. The Dire Avengers were all in range, but their shots could not find their mark through the cowlings of the bikes. The Wraithlord, however, was another matter. His catapults and star cannon sang out, killing three of the bikes and sending them running for cover, just out of reach of a potentially deadly crossfire.

Meanwhile, the Farseer and the Avatar each assaulted the Veteran transports nearby-- a turning point, as the crew inside were stunned and unable to fire their plasma.

The importance of the Wraithguard was soon evident as they marched lifelessly towards the Titan. Their Wraithcannon worked marvelously well and one of the Titans was soon a smoking wreck at their feet.

The nearby Storm Squad, armed with haywire grenades, did their part in assaulting the other Titan. Its gyroscopes were quickly disabled, preventing it from moving-- but unfortunately not preventing it from crushing two of the guardians as a return favor!
