TURN THREE- Orks: The Tankbustas turned their rokkits on the most tank-like critter they could see-- the Carnifex-- and once again scored two hits, though unfortunately only one wound. Still, since not even the Warboss could kill a Carni' in one hit, it was a much needed start. The Deathskulls had a more orky round of fire with their heavy bolters, scoring only four hits on the Stealers skulking about in the woods. Only one was killed, the rest found cover in the trees.

The Goffs turned every slugga and shoota onto the sweeping advance of the hormagaunts and let fly. All that remained when the smoke cleared was one very relieved Runtherd! With a tip of the hat to his Goff buddies, he quickly rallied his Grots and sent them jogging forward to unleash a fussilade of black powder onto the Carnifex. Good intentions, stupid idea, despite their lucky blue blastas.

The Warboss pretty much figured if anything was going to be done about that Carnifex, he was going to have to do it himself-- and with much gusto he did just that. Pile in a few gretchin to catch the worst bits of the fightin' and the boss punched his klaw through the back of the Carnifex-- lots o' times. Seeing the genestealers coming through the woods just a few meters away, the Boss piled his boys right back onto the trukk as soon as the scrap was over. The sneaky Kommandos were predictably late, arriving just in time to be of no help whatsoever.

TURN THREE- Tyranids: The gargoyles swept down from the sky, following the orders of the Hive Mind and directing their fire onto the dangerous heavy bolters that were keeping the genestealers back in the trees. Three Lootas were killed, but the remaining two somehow held on, determined to fight it out.

The devastation of the Carnifex was a wake up call to the Hive Tyrant. Who knew Orks could pose such a threat? Aiming her Venom Cannon carefully, she took out the trukk and forced the retinue onto foot. The Tyranid Warriors also had a bit of luck firing on the bunker, damaging it and preventing the boyz inside from firing.

Sensing an opportunity, the Tyrant ordered the termagants to hold their fire on the gretchin who had resumed position behind the wall. As she predicted, the presence of so much easy prey brought the genestealers ravaging across the remaining open ground. They quickly killed another dozen gretchin, scattered the rest, and proceeded to sweep over the Runtherd. Things were looking up for the Hive.
