Imperial Guard vs Space Marines
Take and Hold

A large mechanized column of rebellious PDF are detected moving towards a fuel dump hidden in a ruined manor house. A small contingent of the Emperor's most devoted Space Marines, the Penitents, is sent to intercept the column and take control of the fuel supply.

Ben (loyal Space Marines): Brian's IG army is still under construction so I knew exactly what he would be fielding- basically everything on his shelf. His army has two basic components I fear: two Leman Russ Demolishers with Marine-killin' Plasma sponsons, and two full Mortar Teams. (Years of WHFB have made Brian a very good guess and he is rarely off by more than a half inch.) I chose a force that was shooty, mobile, and largely immune to his mortar fire. He friggin' hates that.

Brian (rebel Imperial Guard scumbags): I am basically a big lazy sissy boy who can't be bothered to paint up real imperial squads, like with Lascannons and stuff.

Space Marine Deployment: According to the rules of the scenario I was able to start with a formidale force already on the table: All of my Troops (Scouts, Tactical Squad, and Razorback) and all of my Heavy Support (Whirlwind, Predator Annihilator, and Devastator Squad with Razorback). We agreed ahead of time that anything on the base of the ruins would be able to claim hard cover, but it would count as difficult ground. Knowing those 'Russes were on their way, I put everything in cover/hull down, except for the Tac Squad in their Razorback. I wanted it mobile so I could use that Multi-Melta without risking a difficult terrain check.

Imperial Guard Deployment: The Vindicare and his entourage of Ratlings spent some time looking for the ideal placement. There weren't a lot of soft targets on the board so they took up position on a wooded hill, deep in my deployment area, with a juicy shot at the side of my Whirlwind.
